143 Union – LEED Performance Path
143 Union Boulevard
Gold recertification through LEED Performance Path (2018).
Rivion team members first assisted 143 Union, owned and managed by Granite Properties, through a LEED v2009 certification at the Silver level in 2011. In 2016, Rivion worked with Granite to maintain the building’s LEED Silver rating through the LEED Performance Path (LEED v4.1). LEED Performance Path is an annual recertification process, as opposed to the traditional once-every-five-years model. The property achieved 52 points in this first annual recertification.
However, in 2017 during the 2nd annual recertification, the building’s score improved to 60 points for a Gold recertification. The Granite team’s commitment to reduce water consumption, reduce ongoing consumables waste output, and greatly increase their Human Experience score helped spur this 15% improvement. The Human Experience score benefitted from promoting healthy indoor air quality and receiving high human comfort survey ratings from their tenants. 143 Union maintained that Gold level into 2018 as well.
61 points achieved as follows:
- Base points – 5/10 – Points achieved during traditional LEED EB v2009 certification and credited toward the LEED Performance Path recertification.
- Energy – 17/33
- Water – 6/15
- Waste – 6/8
- Transportation – 10/14
- Human Experience – 16/20
