Rivion team members were among the many volunteers who started the morning by packing Easter dinner boxes for the Hunger Task Force at their South Distribution Center in Milwaukee.  Volunteers packed 500 boxes for distribution that day to local food pantries. The Easter boxes included assorted healthy foods like canned fruits and vegetables, breakfast cereal, pork loin roasts, frozen blueberries, fresh milk, apples and much more.

Hunger Task Force on a monthly basis builds Stockboxes for local seniors in need. A Stockbox is a box of healthy foods that Hunger Task Force delivers to low- income seniors free of charge. Each box contains 16 nutritious items including rice, cereal, juice, beef stew, pasta and vegetables. Each month, nearly 9,000 boxes are delivered to seniors in Southeastern Wisconsin.

Hunger Task Force is an independent anti-hunger organization created in Milwaukee to serve Milwaukee.  Unlike national food bank chains, Hunger Task Force does not charge local pantries for food, delivery or network membership fees. They believe that healthy food should be provided free of charge based upon need, not upon an organization’s ability to pay. The organization is supported 100% by the local community…donors support Hunger Task Force because they believe in the Free & Local model to end hunger.
